Meet our Fall 2019 Campaigns Directors
Parker Butler (he, him, his)
Parker is one of the Campaigns Directors for American University College Democrats. He is a sophomore and political science major from the great big (and soon to be blue) state of Texas. A progressive activist since 15, he always focuses on the local in everything. He was a volunteer for Beto O’Rourke in 2018 and is excited to focus on the local races, especially those in Virginia, in 2019. He’s an advocate for racial justice, immigrant justice, gun sense, healthcare for all, and climate justice; dream big, fight hard. Outside of AU Dems, you can find Parker donating to Planned Parenthood using Mike Pence’s name, mindlessly scrolling through Twitter, and getting out to explore and learn about the areas of DC outside the “AU bubble”.

Emily Coneybeare (she, her, hers)
Emily is a sophomore at American University studying history and political science, and serves as one of the Campaigns Directors for AU College Democrats. She fights hard with the AU Dems team to elect Democrats across the country. She is passionate about activism in progressive causes, especially women's, environmental, healthcare, and LGBTQ+ issues. Outside of Dems, she is a Congressional intern, works on the AU Literary Magazine and makes art whenever she can. Emily loves chinese food, American history, and guiding canoe trips.
Hometown: Redondo Beach, California
Favorite Member of Congress: Rep. John Lewis (GA-05)
Nate White (he, him his)
Nate is one of the Campaigns Directors for American University College Democrats. He is in his second year at American University studying political science and minoring in environmental science. From the birthplace of America in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Nate started volunteering on his first campaign in at age 14 in 2014 for Manan Trivedi in the PA 6th district. After getting destroyed in that election, Nate realized that he had fallen in love with meeting voters, hearing what they cared about, and getting them out to vote. Afterward, Nate interned for Admiral Joe Sestak’s Senate campaign from 2015 to 2016, and worked as a fellow for Hillary Clinton in the summer of 2016. Last semester, he interned for Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee Raúl Grijalva (D AZ-03).
Beyond Democratic politics, Nate is interested in federal land management and energy policy, and how they intersect. He’s also the Vice President of Communications for Beta Theta Pi at AU. On campus, you can find him at The Bridge reading wonky newsletters and drinking triple shot cappuccinos.
Hometown: West Chester, PA
Favorite Member of Congress: Raúl Grijalva (AZ-03)
